Terms of Service

By creating an account or using Lingvestor (“the Service”) you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Lingvestor is currently in open beta. Features may change, and we may suspend or discontinue the Service at any time with reasonable notice.

Lingvestor is a vocabulary learning platform that lets you capture words while browsing the web, organise them into decks, and study with AI-powered flashcards and spaced repetition.

We provide the Service free of charge during the beta period. Future pricing tiers may be introduced; existing users will be given advance notice.

• You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service
• You are responsible for keeping your account secure
• One account per person; you may not share accounts
• You must provide accurate information during sign-up

You own the words, notes, and other content you save to Lingvestor. By using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to store and process your content solely to provide the Service to you.

We do not claim ownership of your vocabulary data and will not use it for purposes beyond operating the Service.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the API
• Circumvent rate limits or access controls
• Upload content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights
• Impersonate another person or entity

Lingvestor uses AI to generate flashcard definitions, example sentences, translations, and audio. AI-generated content may occasionally be incorrect. Always verify important information from authoritative sources.

We are not responsible for errors in AI-generated content.

The Lingvestor Chrome Extension captures words you select on third-party websites. You are responsible for ensuring your use of the extension complies with the terms of service of those websites.

The extension only transmits data when you explicitly save a word. It does not passively monitor your browsing.

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. During beta, planned and unplanned downtime may occur.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lingvestor shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of data.

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

On termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days.

We may revise these Terms as the Service evolves. We will notify you of material changes via the app or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes will be resolved in good faith via direct communication before any formal proceedings.
